Cape Breton Capers win inaugural golf tournament

DARTMOUTH, N.S. — A team representing Cape Breton University has captured the Nova Scotia Golf Association's first-ever Atlantic University/College Championship.

The team of Nick Carmichael, Kevin George, Colin Fraser, Ian Fraser and Tyler Syms shot a combined gross score of 305 to edge the Saint Mary's squad by three strokes.

George won the men's individual competition with a two-over-par 70, while Dalhousie's Sydney Erb won the women's title with an 86.

The tournament featured 38 golfers from six institutions and was contested at the Brightwood Golf and Country Club in Dartmouth.
