Capers fall to X-Men at Capers Fall Classic
The Cape Breton University Capers came up short Saturday night, dropping a 73-66 decision to the StFX X-Men at the Capers Fall Classic at Centre 200 in Sydney.

Meshack Lufile had a team high 18 points and six rebounds in a losing cause for the Capers, who led 35-30 at halftime.

AJ Geugjes added 14 points and nine rebounds for the host side while Sean McCormick chipped in with a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Jordon Clarke had a game-high 20 points to go with six boards and four steals for StFX.

William Donkoh with 19 points and six steals, Cameron Walker with 13 points and seven rebounds and Rodrigo Madera with 10 points were other top players for the X-Men.

Acadia 96, UPEI 89

The Acadia Axemen improved to 2-0 with a 96-89 win over the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers.

Anthony Ash hooped 24 points for the Axemen who started slowly before taking control of the game in the second and third quarter.

Owen Klassen had 17 points and 11 rebounds for Acadia while Anthony Sears and Lauchlan Gale chipped in with 14 and 10 points respectively.

Ellis French had 21 points for the Panthers, who also picked up double-digit games from Jayden Skinner with 20 points, Geoff Doane with 19 points and 10 boards and Deontay Smith with 11 points.

Holland College 71, UMFK 62

Orlando Palmer had tournament high 30 points, 16 rebounds and seven steals to pace the Holland College Hurricanes to a 71-62 win over the University of Maine-Fort Kent Bengals.

Alvin Parker added 18 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for the Hurricanes.

Kevin Phillips with 17 points and Mike McClung with 10 points and 11 rebounds were best for the Bengals.
