Capers drop final game to Axemen at Capers Fall Classic
The Cape Breton Capers men's basketball team dropped their final game of the Capers Fall Classic 84-59 to the Acadia Axemen Sunday at Centre 200 in Sydney.

With the victory, Acadia was awarded the overall title, finishing the tournament 3-0. Their point differential of 56 gave them the title over StFX, who also finished 3-0, but with a point differential of 26.

Sean McCormick earned Subway Player of the Game honours for the Capers, recording his second double-double of the tournament, finishing with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Tournament All-Star Meshack Lufile was the only other Caper to finish in double digits, chipping in with 15 points in a losing cause.

Anthony Ash had 25 points to lead the Axemen while Owen Klaussen added 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winners.

Both Ash and Klaussen were named to the tournament all-star team along with Jordan Clarke and William Donkoh of StFX.

StFX 93, Holland College 91

Rodrigo Madera had a game high 25 points to go with nine boards as the X-Men escaped with a 93-91 win over the Holland College Hurricanes.

William Donkoh had 21 points and Jordan Clarke 18 points and nine rebounds for StFX.

Alvin Parker and Jake Kendrick had 19 points apiece for the Hurricanes.

Orlando Palmer added 15 points and 11 boards in a losing cause.

UPEI 103, Maine-Fort Kent 70

Lorenzo Parker led five Panthers players who finished in double figures as the Panthers rolled past the Bengals 103-70.

Parker had 19 points and seven rebounds while Jayden Skinner contributed 17 points and six rebounds to the UPEI offence.

Joe Kendrick with 14 points and Geoff Donae and Ellis French with 13 points each rounded out UPEI high scorers.

Doane also had a dozen boards for the Panthers.

Nikola Vukosavovic had 17 points and seven rebounds to lead the Bengals.
