Capers women push winning streak to five games
Cape Breton University Capers women's soccer team are 5-0-0 after continuing its winning streak in Halifax over the weekend.

On Sunday, the Capers defeated the Saint Mary’s Huskies 2-1 in Atlantic University Sports action at Huskie Stadium.

Kara MacKinnon opened the scoring for CBU in the first half, with an assist by Danielle MacDonald.

Tara Rogers scored the game winner for the Capers on a penalty kick at 55:48.

Andrea Daley responded for the Huskies in a losing cause.

On Saturday, the Capers defeated another Halifax rival, Dalhousie University, by a score of 3-2.

Tara Rogers, Robbyn McNeil and Danielle MacDonald all netted goals for CBU, while Rieka Santilli and Bianca Jakisa scored for Dalhousie.

CBU goalie Tiffany O’Donnell picked up both wins.

The weekend was less triumphant for the Capers men’s team who lost their game Sunday against Saint Mary’s 5-1.

Kareem Henry scored twice for Saint Mary’s, while Olivier Chenard, Derek Gaudet and Ryan Hogg all netted single goals.

Bruno Mota was the lone goal scorer for CBU.

Adam Miller had the win in net, while Ethan MacInnis was tagged with the loss.

On Saturday, the CBU men tied Dalhousie 2-2.

Goal scorers for CBU were Shayne Hollis and Jason Massie, while Tyler Lewars and Nathan Rogers scored for Dalhousie.
