Capers remain undefeated
The Cape Breton University Capers continued their unbeaten season with a 2-1 victory over the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus in AUS women’s soccer play in Sydney Saturday.

Rookie striker Chelsea Currie opened the scoring just eight minutes into the contest, staking the home side to a 1-0 lead they would carry through to halftime.

Donya Salomon-All would pull the Aigles Bleus even when she beat Tiffany O’Donnell in the Capers goal at the 54-minute mark.

Just five minutes later, Currie would restore the Capers lead with her second of the game.

With the victory, the CIS No. 7 ranked Capers improved to 6-0-2 on the season and took over first spot in the AUS standings.

CBU will be home again Sunday when they face the Saint Mary’s Huskies in a 1 p.m. matchup at the Cape Breton Health Recreation Complex on the CBU campus.
