Capers women shooting for first place
The Capers women head into the final two games of the regular season looking to peak for the AUS championship
at CBU, Nov. 2-4. They’ve already clinched a first-round bye at the conference championship with their unbeaten
9-0-2 record and will look to complete the regular season undefeated.

The Canadian Interuniversity Sport No. 4-ranked Capers challenge the X-Women today at 2 p.m. and the
Axewomen Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Cape Breton Health Recreation Complex.

“We’re looking at some things this weekend in anticipation of playoffs with the lineup, but you want to finish
strong,” said Capers women’s head coach Ness Timmons. “It’s a single-elimination tournament, so you want to
make sure you’re playing your best soccer and this weekend is the start of it.”

Two of Timmons’ strikers, Karolyne Blain (hamstring) and Shanice Maxwell (ankle), might sit out this weekend with
minor injuries to be rested for playoffs.
