CAPERS beat Moncton to end Regular Season

The Cape Breton University CAPERS ended their regular season on a winning note as they defeated the Université de Moncton Aigles 4-1 on Saturday afternoon. The win guaranteed the defending AUS Champions second place in the AUS standings and a first-round bye to the semi-finals in next week's championships being hosted in Sydney.

The Aigles Bleues (2-8-2=8pts, 8th position) bowed 4-1 to the Capers (9-2-1=28pts, 2nd position) in women soccer. Subway player of the game, Allyah Rowe, scored three times for the Capers and Rachel Leck had the first. The visitors were leading 2-1 at half time. Chelsea Burnham made 4 saves in the loss and Haley Kardas, 2 for the win. Cape Breton had 4 corner kicks and Moncton, one.

The CAPERS will play in the semi-finals on Friday at 4.30 pm against the winner of the St.FX and Memorial Quarterfinal game. All Championship games are being held at Cape Breton's field. For more details click on this link here.
