The CAPERS sweep the Panthers in back-to-back games
The CAPERS put on a great show to earn their second win for the weekend against the UPEI Panthers in AUS men's basketball action at the Sullivan Fieldhouse.
The first quarter saw the CAPERS put up 14 quick points while the Panthers trailed with 5. After a time out, UPEI settled down and got more points on the board. The CAPERS kept the lead at the buzzer, 26-14. CBU was up by 18 halfway through the second quarter but UPEI made a good run and narrowed the gap to 8 at the half.
The CAPERS continued to dominate at the start of the second half. The Panthers made a good effort halfway through the third but couldn't sustain the comeback. The CAPERS had a 15-point lead at the end of the third. The Panthers pressured the CAPERS but it wasn't enough to pull off a win and the game ended 84-74.
The player of the game for the Panthers was Sam Chisholm with 19 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 3 steals and 1 steal.
The Subways of CBRM player of the game for the CAPERS was Liai Tong with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block.
