CAPERS drop 2 close games on the road

The UNB REDS beat the CAPERS 72-62 in a battle for third place in Atlantic University Sport men's basketball action, Friday evening, at UNB's Richard J. Currie Center.
UNB took an early 27-13 lead in the first quarter, but the CAPERS rallied in the second, outscoring the home team 18-12 to trail 39-31 at the half-time break.
The REDS were able to maintain their lead through the game which resulted in a ten-point triumph for UNB.
Tafarian Black put up a double-double to lead the CAPERS. He scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Stefan Anisko had 16 points and eight rebounds. Marcus Barnes led all scorers with 23 points for the home team while Eden Otshudi, named Tim Horton's Player of the Game, added 21 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
The REDS improve to 7-and-5 with the win, taking over sole possession of third place in the standings.
The CAPERS are now 6-and-5 and in fourth place.

The UNB REDS staged a late fourth quarter rally to pick up a last minute 76-75 victory over the CAPERS in Atlantic University Sport men's basketball action, Saturday at UNB's Richard J. Currie Center. The CAPERS led the game 73-68 with under two minutes to play. Successful foul shots and a layup resulted in the REDS stealing the win with seconds left in the game.
Aaron Cunningham led all scorers with 25 points and five assists for the CAPERS while Stefan Anisko dropped 23 points. For the REDS, Landell recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds and Barnes dropped 17 points. The CAPERS now sit at 6-6 and fourth in the standings, just four points back of the REDS.
Your CAPERS will be back at home in the Sullivan Fieldhouse on Saturday, January 17 to host the Dalhousie Tigers at 8pm, right after the women's game at 6.
