CBU defeats STFX 1-0
SYDNEY, NS - The CBU CAPERS defeated the STFX X-Men in AUS men's soccer action this evening at Ness Timmons Field.
The first half remained scoreless despite the CAPERS spending a lot of time in the offensive end. The CAPERS took 8 shots with 4 of them hitting the target but stopped by STFX keeper Samuel Diltz. CAPERS keeper Jack Harrington faced and stopped 4 shots in the first half.
The CAPERS came out raring to go in the second half getting 7 shots on net compared to the X-Men's 1. In the 77th minute, a sweet shot by Yohann Hebert, assisted by Joe Mac, sailed past the STFX keeper to give the CAPERS a 1-0 lead. CBU held the lead to the end, taking the win over their rivals STFX. The CAPERS are on a 7 game win streak and with this win, they clinched a playoff berth.
The Player of the Game for the STFX X-Men was Max Bodurtha and the Subways of CBRM Player of the Game for CBU was Yohann Hebert.
