CAPERS Women’s Basketball Welcomes Georgia Nelson
The Cape Breton University Women's Basketball Program is happy to announce that Georgia Nelson will be joining our CAPER Family. Georgia is a 5'10" forward from Yorkton, Saskatchewan who is currently playing for the Yorkton Regional High School Lady Raiders. She will pursue a Bachelor of Science while playing for the CAPERS beginning in the 2025-26 basketball season.
Georgia, who is originally from Halifax, is excited to make the trek back to the east coast for the next stage of her basketball adventure. "I chose CBU because I want to be the best I can and Coach Fabian seems like somebody I can learn from and grow with as a player with his wealth of knowledge," Georgia shared.
Georgia feels she has skills to offer on both the offensive and defensive side of things. "I don't just want to win, I want to be proud of how we play and have no doubts that we are the better team," she stated. "I will be giving everything I have to the CAPERS on and off the court."
The CAPERS basketball season officially begins in November - the schedule will be released in May. Keep up to date with CAPERS women's basketball and our other programs at gocapersgo.ca.
Welcome to the CAPER Family, Georgia!
