Bio

Amy Kay is from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, where she played club basketball with NKD Basketball before transitioning into coaching.

She has coached at the provincial level with both the Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association (NLBA) and Basketball Nova Scotia (BNS). She served as an assistant coach with the 2022 NLBA U17 Boys team and as head coach of the 2023 NLBA U15 Girls Development Team. She returned to provincial coaching with Basketball Nova Scotia as an assistant coach with the BNS U15 Girls team in 2025 and the BNS U17 Girls team in 2026.

After moving to Halifax to attend the University of King’s College, Amy Kay joined the King’s Blue Devils women’s basketball program as a Student Assistant Coach. During her three seasons with the program, the Blue Devils captured the 2023–24 ACAA Championship.

Amy Kay recently completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at CBU. She joins the CAPERS Women’s Basketball program as a Graduate Assistant Coach.
