CAPER Favour Akachukwu wins AUS gold in women's track and field
The CBU women's team participated in the AUS track & field championships hosted by the University of New Brunswick at the Inving Oil Fieldhouse in Saint John , NB, from February 20-22.
The highlight for the women's team was second-year Favour Akachukwu's gold medal performance in the 60m sprint. This first place finish qualifies her to attend the U SPORTS national championships in Windsor, ON on March 6-8.
Favour also placed 5th in to 300m sprint with a time of 42.23 seconds.
Second-year Mariah Hervé placed 9th in the triple jump with a distance of 9.86m and 11th in the long jump with her best jump 4.66m.
Second-year Hailey Eisan placed 11th in the 4kg shot put with a distance of 8.37m and fouled on her 3 attempts in the 9.07kg weight throw.
