CAPERS win R.W. Pugh Fair Play Award for 13th time at U SPORTS Nationals
The CBU women's soccer team was awarded the R.W. Pugh Fair Play Award after their final game at the U SPORTS national championships hosted at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, this past week.
Long time Assistant Coach, Robert White, let us know that "CBU has won the award 13/16 times they have attended the national championships." He also shared that the CAPERS have won it when they have won gold, silver and bronze as well as when finishing outside of the top 3. This year, the votes were unanimous in favour of the CAPERS. This speaks volumes to the culture that the coaching staff instills on their student-athletes. Though they did not finish in the top 3 this year, the Athletics Department and the CAPER community are extremely proud of the season that they had this year. Thank you to the countless hours put in by the coaching staff: Ness Timmons, Robert White, Mitchell Hanna and Chad Power. Congratualtions to the student-athletes - your dedication to your academics, your sport and the CAPER community is noticed and applauded.
