CAPERS drop 2 on the Road
The CBU CAPERS traveled to UPEI for back to back games on Friday and Saturday in Atlantic University Sport women's basketball action.
Friday saw Amanda Cruickshank leading the charge for the CAPERS, posting a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Elizandra Costa added 7 points with 2 rebounds and Kristen Taylor chipped in with 5 points and 7 rebounds. Despite the effort, it was not enough to top the 4th place Panthers.
The rematch on Saturday saw the CAPERS dominating the first half with a lead of 41-28 at the buzzer. The Panthers chipped away at the gap during the third quarter but the CAPERS maintained the lead 47-39. The CAPERS ran into trouble in the 4th scoring only 5 points which allowed the Panters to gain the lead and win the game 61-54. Kristen Taylor scored 19 points with 9 rebounds and Amanda Cruickshank added 11 points and 7 rebounds. Alicia Bowering chipped in with 10 points and 2 rebounds.
The CAPERS will play their last game of the season on Saturday, February 14 at 6pm followed by the men's game at 8pm. It will be African Heritage Night at the Sullivan fieldhouse and we will also be celebrating our graduates.
